Here I am

I have been busy with lots of things lately!  My MIL passed away, we are moving into a new house, trying to get kids into new school..seems to all happen at once!!  We have been packing away and will be moving on the 10th!  We are all excited,the kids are kind of dreading a new school...but excited too. I have been trying to get over a horrible cough and that seems to be getting better! 

We have a few things to do this week to get ready for the move and everything. But for right now I am taking my time and keeping busy with the daily things and getting some packing done. 

Mollie has 2 teeth and is getting so big!  She is such a stinker. Kaylee and Nolen are growing like crazy and loosing teeth left and right..keeping the tooth fairy busy and broke..lol

I cant wait to get pictures of the new house and post them

Moving Day

Well seems we are moving...things have went very quick and all of a sudden!  We found a nice 4 bedroom perfect for our family of 5!  Have been busy with this and other things...will be back later!!

Thankful

I'm having a Thankful Friday today...Just because I am feeling thankful for my wonderful Husband who works hard for us, thankful for my 3 wonderful kids, and thankful for the little things we have..like a home..its nothing fancy..its just home.  Our Health..all 5 of us are healthy and happy..and that's all that matters!  We don't have to have fancy things to be happy..we live a pretty normal and simple life!  And we have each other..and that's all that matters!!

My First Before and After

OK..so here is my first before and after!  It took me long enough..but I think i finally got it to my liking! 

I found this old table at my Favorite Antique store for 5 bucks!  It was COVERED in chippy black paint and after HOURS of trying to peel it all off..I gave up!  It stayed in our room until a couple days ago and I decided I would try to salvage it!

Not to bad!  I still need to put a glaze over it. I like it in the Kitchen, of course this is the ONLY spot I can put it..over the vent..so we will see how that goes!  I also got everything on the table from thrift stores!  The little bird candle holder was 50 cents, the glass jar was 1.00, the silver bowl was 1.00 and has a matching ppiece to it without a pedestal. And the picture was 2.00 and I LOVE IT..its all cross stitch and the colors are perfect for what I want to use in my kitchen!

BTW..Over look the dirty looking floor...its my kitchen floor and still needs sanding..that's not dirt, but old stain/paint from years ago that even a drum sander had problems getting up!  Happy 4th to everyone, have a fun and safe day!!

I have soooo much to share and DO.. I am about to go crazy with this child of mine!  EVERY SINGLE TIME I get up to do something she starts screaming her head off!! She is teething and wont eat alot at a time or sleep!  I cant wait for those teeth to come through.

I have been trying to clean out my Dining room!  It was converted into a playroom/sewing room, well that is not working out so well. So, we are moving the playroom part out and trying to move my sewing stuff into the newly re-arranged laundry room!  I need to first clean and out figure out where to put all the crap i have in the laundry room..lol

I plan on re-painting in there and adding storage and shelves...but its been a slow process with 3 kids at home all day and a hubby that's working 3 shift AND going to school!  But it will get done!!  Heck..I still need trim and a door frame added! 

Also, I will have a dining room to re-do..it has already been painted , here it is in all its glory after we painted it:

This was before all the kids stuff and my sewing stuff was added.  I am slowly trying to empty it out again to turn it back into the dining room!  I am gonna keep the dark brown on the wall cause I just love warm colors!!  I will be adding greens, reds, oranges, and yellows to it like my kitchen!  I love vintage and antiques..so it will be stuff like that!  I cant wait to start shopping for things..that's half the fun!! 

I am also working on a project for My Son's room..looks like its gonna take a little longer than expected though!  But I will post pictures up as soon as I get that done!  But for now...I got to work on some bibs for a friend of mine...now that I can FINALLY get to my machine!!!

Busy Bee

I have been a busy little bee the last couple of days!  I cant wait to show you what I have been up to and of course more pictures of the kitchen!  But for now..I will leave you with a yummy recipe. This is a really good recipe for get togethers!  I always make this when I have a big crowd..and theres NEVER any left overs!!

Fancy Green Beans


2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce


1 tablespoon honey


1 tablespoon butter


1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice


1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans


2 slices bacon


1/2 cup red bell pepper strips


1/2 cup thin onion wedges


1/2 cup whole cashews



In a small bowl, stir together the teriyaki sauce, honey, and butter.


Fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes.


Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the lemon juice. Drop in the beans and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until beans are bright green. Drain the beans in a colander and then plunge them into the iced water. Drain again and set aside.


In a skillet, cook the bacon until very crispy, crumble and set aside. Saute the bell pepper and onion in the hot bacon fat for 2 minutes. Add the beans, cashews, and bacon to the skillet. Add the teriyaki-honey sauce and toss gently.

Paint and Cabinets

Ok, so here is the Kitchen with paint and cabinets!  Basically, this is how the contractor left my kitchen!  My floors are sanded a little, and Hubby had to hook up the dryer. We also got someone to hook up the plumbing to the Dishwasher, but still couldnt use it casue there was no power for it or the disposal! 

Check back tomorrow and i will show you what the kitchen looks like NOW , plus some thrift store finds!!

This is now the ONLY room inthis entire house that has ANY insulation..but that will change!

Im gonna start off with showing ya'll what is going on in my kitchen! It has been a work in process since FEB..yes almost 5 LONG months! First I got the contractor from HELL, and now I am having to get someone to come in and fix/finish what he did do! Here is a little look see at the before *WARNING..The Images you are about to see are not for the faint of heart.

Yes..I had this kitchen for 2 years!!! This is really worse than what I had cause we cleaned everything out ready for demo!

This is the laundryroom area. It was gutted too and all new plumbing and wiring addedIt used to just be a little nook * not original to the house though* We had to fix some rotted flooring and tile it since there were no original hardwood like the rest of the kitchen and house.
